1 Student died, several injured at Carmel Convent School Chandigarh
Chandigarh: 70-feet tall and 250 years old heritage tree today fell at the Carmel Convent School Sector 9 Chandigarh injuring number of students.
Sources added that injured students of the School have been rushed to government hospital in Sector 16, and PGI as they sustained injuries.
Many students are reported to be injured and one of them was declared brought dead when she was rushed to PGI Chandigarh.
Sources added, that the condition of a student and a lady conductor is also said to be critical.
It is pertinent to mention here that about 70-feet tall and 250 years old tree, was a heritage peepul tree that was protected by the administration of the Union Territory.
Medical teams and police rushed to the spot after getting the information. UT officials reached the school to take stock of the situation and sources said many parents reached the school after getting the information.
