6 persons nabbed with 4 pistols, 14 cartridges, 6 magazines and a Jetta car

Mohali: Under the directions of Mr. Vivek Sheel Soni, IPS, Senior Superintendent Police, Mohali Mr. Navreet Singh Virk, PPS, SP. (Rural) SAS Nagar, Mrs. Rupinderdeep Kaur Sohi, PPS, DSP. Kharar-1 and Inspector Periwinkle Grewal, under the supervision of SHO Police Station Balongi, the drive was launched to nab the culprits of robberies and thefts on 6th September by SI Bavinder Kumar.
Case U/s 25,54,59 of the Arms Act, 34 IPC was registered at Police Station Balongi against Simranjit Singh son of Balveer Singh, Gurpratap Singh son of Jatinder Singh, and Jasmeet Singh son of Jatinder Singh.
While sharing information of the incident, SSP Mohali said that drive to check the vehicles was launched and during checking at Balongi bridge by the police team and during the inspection, a Jetta vehicle number PB-10 FE-3572 coming from Mohali side was stopped for checking at spice lights after which the driver tried to runaway with the vehicle and started to drive the vehicle backwards, which was stopped by the police team and checked and during checking 02 country made pistols with 32 bore magazines were recovered from the vehicle and 08 live cartridges and 01 empty magazines were recovered and the accused were arrested.
During the interrogation of the accused and investigation of the trial, accused Bhupinder Singh son of Kapur Singh, Guljar Khan son of Fateh Muhammad and Lakhandeep Singh son of Savinder Singh were arrested and 02 country pistol magazines attached and one empty magazine and 06 live cartridges have been recovered from these accused.
SSP said that accused Simranjit Singh S/o Balveer Singh R/o Vill. Mughal Chak Gill PS Sadar Tarn Taran case No. 86 dated 25-04-2022 u/s 397,307,511,506 IPC and U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS City Tarn Taran is also registered and accused Lakhandeep Singh S/o Savinder Singh, R/o Village Thatharke, Dera Baba Nanak, district Gurdaspur and case No. 110 dated 18-06-2018 under 397,302 IPC and 25,27/54/59 Arms Act police station Sadar Patiala and case No. 137 dated 30-06 -2018 A/D 25/54/59 Arms Act Police Station Division No 6 Jalandhar is also registered and further case is being investigated.
