Mohali: The Upscaling of Aapda Mitra Community Volunteers Training under the Supervision of Director (Prof.) Dr. J.S Bhatia was conducted at Govt. College, Phase 6, S.A.S Nagar (Mohali) from 1st March to 15th March. Total 200 volunteers participated in the training. The training had finally come to an end in which they had been taught about First Aid, Floods, CBRN Emergencies, Mock drills like Fire, Earthquake and all other Disasters that Punjab is prone to. The Aapda Mitra Project sponsored by the NDMA Delhi and the SDMA, Punjab and organized by Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA).
The Day started with warm welcome of all the participants/volunteers. In order to qualify the Aapda Mitra training, all the participants qualified the Objective based examination conducted in the starting of the programme. Post-training, all the participants gave their feedback and shared their experiences.
For the closing ceremony Vice Principal Mrs. Arvind Kaur was present who motivated everyone with her wonderful speech on disaster management and how Aapda Mitra can work in future in coordination with Administration. Also, the Director, AAPDA Mitra, Punjab, Prof. J.S Bhatia closed the session by giving the Valedictory Speech and by honoring all the program Coordinators, participants and Volunteers. Special vote of thanks to Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Aashika Jain and ADC Mrs. Amninder Kaur Brar for directing the 12 Day AAPDA Mitra training.
The day ended with cultural activities and small speeches by all the Chief Guests and Instructors.
