Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh is likely to be nominated as next governor of the Maharashtra.

Former Punjab CM has recently emerged his party into BJP after parting his ways from Congress.

Captain Amarinder Singh, resigned as the Chief Minister of Punjab on 18 September 2021.
On 19 September, Captain Amarinder Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and also merged his party Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) with the BJP.
