Chandigarh: A work for construction of Toe wall was started today in presence of Jasbir Singh Bunty Councillor Ward No. 24 Sector 42 in Jungle area of the ward.
Councillor Jasbir Singh Bunty said that snakes used to come out of the forest area falling under the ward No 24 during the rains and enter people’s houses, due to which the people living nearby have to live in a state of fear.
Few day time ago a 45-year-old woman had died due to snake bite in sector 42 after which area MC Jasbir Singh raised the issue with UT Advisor Dharampal .
MC Jasbir Singh said that, “There is a forest area near houses in sector 42, which has tall grass and dense shrubbery from where snakes come and enter houses and had requested the administration to ensure the wild growth is removed regularly to avoid such incidents in future.
UT Advisor had issued orders to the concerned department to install toe wall. Following the order of the advisor, installation of tow wall today will help the people to get rid of the snakes coming out from the forest area.
RWA Secretary Shashi Kumar said that now residents of the area will now have a sigh of relief due to construction of toe wall.
On this occasion, NK Kapoor, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, BB Davar, Vijay Gupta, Subhash Jain, Sharad Sharma, Pawan Singla, Kulbir Gill of Forest Department were also present.
