Mohali: Dr. Parminder Singh has been appointed as Nodal Officer for resolutions of complaints regarding shortage of medicines in the government health institutions across the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur said that a regular officer has been appointed to deal with complaints regarding shortage of medicines or prescription of medicines which are available at private chemist shops.
Civil Surgeon said that the patients or residents of the district now can lodge their complaint with Dr Parminder Singh, which will be resolved within the stipulated time frame.
Dr. Adarshpal Kaur further said that the health department is fully committed to provide quality health care services to the people.
There are clear instructions to the health officials to not prescribe medicines which are available at outside chemist shops and added that patients should be given medicines from the hospital pharmacy itself.
If there is shortage of medicines, the higher authorities should be informed on time so that the same may be supplied to the respective institution without any delay.
