Mohali: The district administration is conducting a campaign to distribute free eye glasses to the needy children by conducting the eye camps for all the students studying in Govt. in Distt. Mohali. Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Talwar distributed 400 spectacles to the children who had been checked up earlier by calling the heads of government schools, these glasses were provided free of charge by industrialist Naresh Kansal and his team under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The official spokesperson said that a total of 1 lakh 21 thousand children are studying in the government schools of the district by the district administration for whom eyes are being continuously screened with the support of the health department and the education department.
The Deputy Commissioner has instructed the health department and the school principals to take personal interest and provide eye glasses to 100 percent of the school children in the district to complete the target by March 31.
