Chandigarh: The day started with fog in Punjab on Tuesday. In the satellite view released by the Meteorological Department, a thick blanket of haze has enveloped Punjab and Haryana. Such weather may continue for the next few days. On the other hand, Bathinda of Punjab has recorded colder than Shimla today. Some flights were delayed on Tuesday morning, while the speed of trains has also slowed down. The Punjab Police has ordered the vehicles plying on the roads to be more careful.
The haze has also affected flights. Flight number 6E6723 Indigo flying from Lucknow to Amritsar landed about 40 minutes late. Although the flight was late for takeoff, due to fog at the time of landing, the flight kept circling in the air for about 10 minutes. Similarly, flight SG56 from Dubai to Amritsar is also late. Delayed departure is likely due to delayed landing of flights.
Red alert in Punjab
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding dense fog in the entire Punjab on Monday. This alert has currently been issued till 21 December. It is being speculated that this alert may go ahead for more days. Due to fog, less sunlight is expected in most of the cities today.
Know the minimum temperature of the city
Amritsar – Today the minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 6.8 degrees, but there are chances of less sunshine today. Due to which the maximum temperature will drop and it may be less than 20 degrees.
Jalandhar – Jalandhar recorded a minimum temperature of 9 degrees, but the maximum temperature will be recorded a drop.
Ludhiana – Ludhiana recorded a minimum of 8.1 degrees. It is estimated that the maximum temperature may be around 20 degrees.
Bathinda – The lowest temperature in Punjab was recorded at 3.4 degrees in Bathinda. It is expected to increase cold in the coming days as well.
