Illegal Poster war continues in Mohali

Mohali: The process of putting up illegal posters in every nook and corner of the city seems to have gone scot-free, without even being issued a penalty.
Mohali Residents complained that, the banners of promotion and advertising are being displayed without any prohibition on most of the poles, trees on internal as well as external roads in Mohali.
Senior citizen resident of Mohali added that these illegally installed posters /banners pose threat to commuters as they have been installed at unsafe distances on the roadsides which may lead to any serious mishap.
Presently the situation in Mohali is that these illegal banners and posters, which could be seen on almost all poles/ trees in the city and nothing is being done about this environmental hazard by the concerned government departments expressed residents. Even at some places posters could be seen hanging above the existing posters.
Residents added, these illegal banners are also causing revenue loss to the Municipal Corporation Mohali and demanded a strict action against the culprits as the earned revenue could help Municipal corporation Mohali to spent money on several projects or may reduce the property tax rate to provide some relief to the residents. But Who cares?
