Chandigarh : In pursuance of its objective to place its students in reputed companies, the Placement Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh orgaised various placement drives in which a total of 33 students were selected for various posts and 58 students were selected for internship. The highest pay package was offered by SlideTech Systems which recruited 5 students for the post of Research Analyst at a pay package of CTC 4,02,000. In another placement drive, Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) selected 13 students for the post of Business Development Executive. A total of 126 students had registered for the drive and after a rigorous process involving an online aptitude test and an interview, the bank selected 13 students. Touchstone Educationals LLP and The British Counsel recruited 8 and 3 students, respectively for the posts of Trainers and Counselors. 2 students were recruited during a placement drive of MyCaptain for the role of Inside Sales Executive. Bulls Eye Knowledge System Pvt Ltd (Hit Bulls Eye) selected 2 students for the profile of Counselor and 1 student for paid internship of 6 months. 57 students from undergraduate and post graduate classes of Sociology got the opportunity of paid internship at Muskurahat Foundation- an NGO working for underprivileged children. The interns, after the completion of 30 days internship programme, will receive performance based stipend, letter of recommendation and certificate of completion. All the selected students were ecstatic at their selection and thanked the college for kickstarting their career in reputed companies.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for the concerted efforts of the college’s Placement Cell to help students realise their dream of self reliance by making available employment opportunities in national and international companies of repute. She informed that in the past also companies like Infosys, E&Y, Amazon, Deloitte USI Tech, Calvin Klein, Wipro, IndiGo, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. have reposed their faith in the talent and professional acumen nurtured at MCM by recruiting its students.
