MCM holds screening of Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam

Chandigarh : Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised special screening of the 3-day Education Summit titled Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam that was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi. Over 400 faculty, staff and students led by Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava watched the live telecast of the summit that is being organised for holding deliberations on strategies, success stories and best practices in implementing the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). In his inaugural address, Shri Narendra Modi said that the basic premise of the National Education Policy is to connect education with the modern ideas of the 21st century. Adding that the education system created by Britishers was never part of the Indian ethos, the Prime Minister underlined the multidimensionality of the Indian ethos of education. He asserted that the education policy is preparing the ground for making the youth skilled, confident, practical and calculative, and also emphasised on the need to work for the future with a new thought process. Shri Narendra Modi urged the higher educational institutions to adopt the new education policy with all the enthusiasm and scientific temperament while keeping intact the traditional base of education.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that NEP 2020 will lead to India’s emergence as a big center of global education. Speaking about the importance of NEP 2020, Dr. Bhargava said that it would strengthen the ramparts of higher education in India and open up new portals and avenues of opportunities for the youth of the country.
