Chandigarh: The Career Counselling Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Career Launcher, organised a session on ‘Vocabulary Building’. The resource person for the session was Mr. Vineet Sharma, Faculty, Career Launcher. The session aimed to spread awareness among the students about the importance of communication and the role played by good vocabulary in effective communication. Mr. Vineet Sharma elaborated on aspects like logical association, diction, suffixes and prefixes. Total 147 students participated enthusiastically in the session and learnt the best use of words in the simplest possible manner.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this relevant endeavour as she pointed out that a good vocabulary is imperative for effective communication which in turn is essential for success in professional as well as personal life. She said that the college organises such sessions on a regular basis to ensure holistic development of its students.
