MCM holds skill development workshop on Video Editing

Chandigarh : Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, a recognised Vocational Education Nai Talim Experiential Learning (VENTEL) Action Plan Institution, in association with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Education, Government of India organised a 3-day skill development workshop on Video Editing (Via Mobile). Mr. Samarth Sharma, Consultant, MGNCRE was the Programme Coordinator and resource person for this informative workshop. During the workshop, Mr. Samarth gave hands-on training to the participants on various basic and applied aspects of video making, editing, presenting, polishing and adding special effects etc., using mobile. The practical session wherein participants made their own videos helped them to better understand and implement the concepts learnt during the workshop. The workshop witnessed active participation with a total of 40 registrations from students of diverse streams. The participants found the workshop highly beneficial and suggested that more such workshops be organised in future. During the valedictory, certificates were awarded to the organising team and the participants.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava said that the present competitive times call for adding more weightage to one’s resume through skill enhancement courses. Highlighting the importance of this workshop, Dr. Bhargava added that the impactful medium of visual presentation has become pervasive in various fields, be it education, business, entertainment, etc., and this it becomes important to equip oneself with skills in visual storytelling.
