MCM inspires students to be entrepreneurs with ‘My Story

Chandigarh: In the series of ‘My Story’ programme aimed to inspire students through sharing of success stories of entrepreneurs, the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Start-up Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised an interactive session with Start-up Founder Ms. Aakanksha Dhawan. Ms. Aakanksha Dhawan is the Founder of Smash Queen and Franchise Owner of Superdonuts, Elante Mall, Chandigarh.
The insightful and motivational session acquainted the participants with the story of her journey to be a succlessful entrepreneur. Highlighting the fact that she practically applied the theoretical knowledge into her ventures, she impressed upon the participants the crucial role of higher education in student’s life.
Ms. Aakanksha substantiated this by stating that college provides an environment to build various skills and develop one’s personality. She also advised the students to do internships with companies as this provides them practical training to work in a challenging environment. The participants were also enlightened about the importance of social media marketing and the types of franchise business models. The session was very informative and engaging.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed gratitude to the resource person for motivating the students through her inspiring story. She added that a self-reliant India can be built only if the enterprising and creative youth of today recognise the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship, and become employment generators.
