MCM ushers new semester with havan

Chandigarh: Lending an auspicious start to the new semester, the Arya Samaj Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised havan yajna here today. A monthly ritual, havan yajna is organised at the college at the beginning of each month with the objective of inculcating Vedic values in the students. Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava, staff members and students offered prayers to the holy fire amidst the chanting of shlokas and hymns. A Speech Competition, conducted on this occasion, witnessed enthusiastic participation of the students who eloquently shared their views on ‘Youth of India: Mission and Vision’.
Speaking at this occasion, Dr. Nisha Bhargava apprised students of the role of Swami Dayanand Saraswati ji, Arya Samaj and DAV movement in the fields of education, social reform, women empowerment and nation building. She motivated the students to carry forward this rich legacy and spread the fragrance of Vedic values in this world.
The staff members and students whose birthdays fall in the month of January received blessings as Dr. Bhargava garlanded them with beautiful flowers. The winners of Speech Competition are:

Third Prize: Prerna BCom III
