Chandigarh: The Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, as per the directions of Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration, organised a Pledge Ceremony and Poster Making Competition under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. More than 100 students pledged against drug abuse with the aim to make themselves, their family and the nation drug free. Students also enthusiastically participated and displayed their creativity in Poster Making Competition, the theme of which was ‘The importance of family in preventing substance abuse and promoting healthy and positive attitude towards life’. The best three posters were awarded cash prizes.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the highly appreciable role of VADA Club in the fight against drug abuse. She motivated the students to be the ambassadors of Nasha Mukt Bharat and raise awareness in the society about the detrimental effects of drug abuse on an individual, the family and the nation.
