MLA Kulwant Singh raised the issue of unauthorized colonies in the Legislative Assembly

Mohali: MLA Mohali constituency S. Kulwant Singh strongly raised the issue of illegal colonies in the Vidhan Sabha and said that when urbanization started 30-35 years ago, people started shifting from villages to cities, at that time the government did not have a policy to build houses for better living of the people who were shifting to cities. For the last 30 years, no government had paid any attention towards this issue, as a result of which there has been a glut of illegal colonies in Punjab, which the government should now strictly crack down.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh said that in the last 22 years, 20,000 acres of land has been approved or acquired, if there would have been no illegal colonies, this land would have been 40,000 acres. Thanking Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Honorable Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he said that the Mann government has kept around 6500 crores for urban development. Along with this, new urban states will be created in Punjab.
S. Kulwant Singh said that I am happy to inform that urban states will be made in Punjab by the Government, an urban estate of 1600 acres will be built in Mohali.
MLA Kulwant Singh added, Punjab Government has taken many other big steps towards the development of Punjab and the Government is committed to fulfill the promises it has made to the public. Similarly, the government will continue to work keeping in mind the people of Punjab every time. Punjab will touch the heights of progress in the coming days.
