Mohali: Today, on the 6th day of the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the ‘Budget’ was discussed in the House. Meanwhile, MLA Mohali constituency S. Kulwant Singh raised the issue of houses being given to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). He said that in the Act related to EWS, five percent of the land is reserved for the economically ‘weaker section’ i.e. EWS, whereas for the last 20 years, no one paid attention towards the issue.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh said that there is no question of any caste, religion, or family in this regard, EWS Act talks about the economically weaker sections. According to the act, strict conditions have been kept for the EWS category in Punjab, in which the annual income is less than 3 lakhs and the person should be residing in the state for more than 10 years.
Minister Aman Arora told that the maximum land has been acquired in Mohali, so the maximum number of EWS people will be given houses in Mohali.
