Mosquito Breeding in N-choe Nallah

Mohali: N-choe passing through the residential area of Phase-9, Mohali, which was once lifeline of the city because its flora and fauna, has now become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. The choe has also turned into a dumping ground for waste. Throwing debris in the choe leads to water-logging in the area, which will lead to rise in malaria and dengue cases. The MC, Mohali is requested to take immediate measures to revive the flora and fauna of the choe to keep our city clean and green said Col TBS Bedi (Retd).While talking to the team The Aman Sandesh Times residents added, they are forced to inhale foul smell and further, it gives a very shabby look to residents living nearby. The MC authorities are requested to take effective measure to rejuvenate the nullah, But Who Cares???
MC Commissioner, Mohali Ms Navjot Kaur PCS, said that The work pertaining to the cleaning of N-Choe will be done on top priority to avoid it to turn it into a breeding ground for mosquitoes and assured steps would be taken to clean the N-Choe in Phase-9 which flows from Chandigarh into the Mohali District.
