Students learn the nuances of Photography during 4-day workshop

Chandigarh: Giving an impetus to its endeavour of providing holistic education and opening up varied vistas for its students, a 4-day skill development Photography Workshop was held at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh. Organised under the aegis of Mass Communication Department and Institution Innovation Council of the college, the workshop was conducted by seasoned photographer Mr. Rajnish Katyal. The workshop aimed at familiarising the participants with basics of photography including various parts of camera, different types of cameras, types of lenses, the working of a camera, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and different techniques of photography.
Speaking about the importance of photography, Mr. Katyal said that with the advent of technology, the art of photography has evolved to be a highly specialised craft. Mr. Katyal also encouraged the students to consider taking up photography as it is a blooming alternative career choice among young entrepreneurs these days. Each session was complemented with suitable examples to make the participants understand the nuances of exposure techniques and composition techniques.
A practical shooting session on the final day provided the participants hands-on training in clicking aesthetic pictures using the techniques taught during the first three days. Over 30 students participated enthusiastically in the workshop and were awarded participation certificates.
