Teachers launch campaigns to motivate
people for admission in government schools

Mohali: Teachers and officials of more than 400 Primary government schools along-with the staff of District education department Punjab in Mohali were today seen following the direction of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains and putting up best efforts as they launched a massive campaign to motivate the students and their parents for taking admission in government schools. Under this campaign, teachers have started door-to-door visit to register the children for the admission.
The increase in the standard of education during the tenure of Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government seems to have boosted the confidence of the people in government schools.
During the campaign to increase the admissions in government schools to provide quality education to the children, ‘enrolment booster teams’ were seen motivating the parents aiming to make this campaign a success.
In order to motivate the people towards government schools, besides conducting door-to-door visits by the teachers, flexes were being put up in common places and meetings are being held with Panches, Sarpanches, Councillors and other dignitaries. Posters, videos, short films depicting the features of government schools are being prepared and shared on social media.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pb Education Minister while presiding over a high-level meeting with all the education officers and district teams of the state has set a target of enrolling one lakh new students in a single day on the first day of the admission drive during the campaign scheduled to run from 8 am to 8 pm.
Punjab Education Minister Bains said that he would personally monitor the operation and has directed the officials of the department to set up admission booths at the main gate of every government school in Punjab from March 10, 2023 to March 31, 2023, to make the admission drive-2023 more effective.
The Education Minister unequivocally directed the officers that as per the vision of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, every officer should work with utmost diligence and honesty to improve the quality of education in government schools to the international level.
Mr Bains said that while the school staff who got the highest number of new admissions would be given a certificate of appreciation and special financial assistance to the school, a meeting would also be organised with the CM Bhagwant Mann.
Total budget allocated for Education for 2023-24 is ₹17,072 crore, 12% higher than the previous year.
Education and Health are the top most priorities for Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government.

DEO Primary Sh. AK Datta while talking to The Aman Sandesh Times said we aim at admitting more than 4000 new admissions in primary wing for current academic sesion 2023-24 & around 3500 Admissions were reported till the filing of news.

DEO Upper Primary Sh. Baljnder Singh while talking to The Aman Sandesh Times said there is a great charm among parents in district to seek admission in Govt. Schools as the schools are full of facilities such as smart labs, smart class rooms, co-curricular activities & sports activities and increasing infrastructure day by day under the leadership of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.
