Mohali : The elections for the Bar Association, Judicial Court Complex in Sector 76, Mohali, were organized where out of 566 members, 523 casted their votes, with 6 votes being declared invalid.
Advocate Snehpreet Singh has been elected as the new President of the Bar Association, Sukhchain Singh Sodhi as Vice President, Advocate Akash Chetal as Secretary, Advocate Harpreet Singh as Treasurer, and Advocate Sourabh Goyal as Librarian.
Advocate Snehpreet Singh secured 212 votes, while his opponents, Advocate Sandeep Singh Lakha and Advocate Ranjodh Singh Srao, received 160 and 144 votes respectively. Snehpreet Singh won by a margin of 52 votes.
Vice President’s position is reported to be won by Advocate Sukhchain Singh Sodhi, who got 302 votes, defeating his contender, Advocate Yudhveer Singh who got 210 votes.
For the Secretary position, Advocate Akash Chetal won with 362 votes, leaving his opponents, Advocate Daljeet Singh (100 votes) and Advocate Surjeet Kumar Saini (50 votes), far behind.
Akash Chetal won by a significant margin of 162 votes.
Treasurer’s role went to Advocate Harpreet Singh, who secured 276 votes, with Advocate Mohit Verma receiving 239 votes.
Advocate Sourabh Goyal has been elected as Librarian, he got 330 votes, while his competitor, Advocate Darbara Singh, obtained 184 votes.
The successful candidates have pledged to work towards the betterment of the Bar Association and its members, ensuring smooth functioning and progress of the legal community in Mohali.
