New Delhi :
To strengthen women representation and operational capability of the security force, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is going to set up its first Mahila Reserve Battalion in Nuh, Haryana. The move comes after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) approved the creation of 1,025 posts on November 11, 2024.
The Haryana government has allotted 50 acres of land in Nuh, which was evaluated by CISF and found suitable for setting up a Mahila battalion. A proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for setting up the battalion on this land, which was approved on January 24, 2025.
The Delhi NCR region comprises of major CISF units such as:
– Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI)
– Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)
– Parliament House Complex
– Central Government Building Security
These key units require additional deployment of women personnel, especially in high-alert situations. Further, with the upcoming Jewar International Airport becoming operational, the demand for women security personnel is likely to increase further.
Establishment of the Mahila Battalion at Nuh will not only be cost-effective but also operationally viable. This will enable CISF to ensure quick deployment of trained women personnel as per the requirements of its NCR based units. The battalion will be equipped with state-of-the-art security equipment and resources, thereby enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness.
Additionally, CISF has recently acquired a separate land at Indri village in Nuh, Haryana with the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, where its 1st Reserve Battalion will be relocated. Presently, the battalion is temporarily located at Badwaha in Madhya Pradesh. The proximity of both the battalions will further strengthen the operational capability of CISF, enabling it to meet the requirements of sensitive units in the Delhi-NCR region more effectively.
This dual establishment of 1st Reserve Battalion and Mahila Reserve Battalion at Nuh will not only streamline operations but will also enhance CISF’s preparedness and efficiency in ensuring security of vital installations across the region.
