In a groundbreaking collaboration, Creators Street, Epiko Con, the Telangana Government, ICA Indian Comics Association, Forbidden Media & Entertainment Association of India (MEAI), Telangana VFX Animation and Gaming Association (TVAGA), and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, proudly announce the WAVES Cosplay Championship, set to be held during the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 in Mumbai from May 1-4, 2025.
This prestigious event is set to become India’s largest cosplay competition, offering a world-class platform for India’s most talented cosplayers to showcase their creativity, artistry, and dedication to pop culture. It is an integral part of India’s growing entertainment and AVGC-XR sector, promoting self-expression and innovation through costume design, character portrayal, and performance.
Competition Highlights:
– Grand Finale: 80-100 finalists will present their live cosplay performances on the WAVES 2025 stage.
– Jury: Judging will be done by esteemed industry experts, international guests, and cosplay professionals.
– Categories: Competitions will cover a variety of themes, including Indian mythology, anime, manga, DC, Marvel, and pop culture.
– Global Exposure: Participants will have the opportunity for international recognition.
– Prize Money: Over ₹1,50,000 in prize money will be up for grabs.
Competition Structure & Selection Process:
– Online Registration & Jury Review: Cosplayers must submit their entries online, where they will be reviewed by a jury.
– Finalist Selection: 80-100 cosplayers will be selected, with notifications sent via email.
– Live Championship: The selected finalists will compete live on the WAVES 2025 stage, showcasing their costumes and performances.
– Judging & Winners: Winners will be crowned across multiple categories, based on key judging parameters.
