Fire Safety and Rescue Training Conducted by CISF in Collaboration with Chandigarh Fire & Rescue Services

A comprehensive fire safety and rescue training session was successfully conducted at the CISF Unit, Punjab & Haryana Civil Secretariat (P&HCS), Chandigarh. The session, held from 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM, was organized in collaboration with the Fire & Rescue Services, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh (UT), with an aim to strengthen the unit’s preparedness for emergency situations.

As the CISF serves as a first responder during contingencies, the training focused on key areas such as fire safety protocols, operation of multiple types of fire extinguishers, fire rescue techniques, Fireman’s Lift procedures, and the use of fire tenders.

Following the fire safety segment, disaster management-trained personnel from the CISF unit conducted a First Aid and CPR training class. This additional session equipped participants with essential life-saving skills necessary during emergencies.

During the event, CISF personnel engaged in productive interactions with members of the Chandigarh Fire & Rescue team, resolving queries related to fire emergencies and enhancing mutual coordination. Practical exposure was also provided, including hands-on training in operating fire extinguishers and managing hose pipes.
The session was led by Shri Satpal Singh, Sub Fire Officer, along with a team of eight members, and Shri Rajan, Fire Operator, supported by two team members from the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat.

A total of 51 CISF personnel participated in the session. The event concluded successfully without any untoward incidents. Post-training, Shri Nitin Kumar, Deputy Commandant, addressed the CISF personnel, appreciating their participation and emphasizing the importance of continued readiness for emergency response.
