THE AMAN SANDESH TIMES

Chandigarh :

Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, emphasized the importance of providing equal opportunities to talented students from government schools aspiring to join civil services. Speaking at a special event at Raj Malhotra Study Centre, which marked a decade of efforts to guide future civil servants, the Governor called for greater support to help meritorious youth overcome financial and social barriers.

“Many gifted students miss out on opportunities due to lack of resources. With the right guidance and encouragement, they can excel and contribute significantly to the nation’s administration,” said Shri Kataria.

He stressed the need to identify students scoring above 90 percent or those showing exceptional talent and provide them with free coaching and mentorship. Quoting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Governor said, “Dreams are not what we see while sleeping, dreams are those that do not let us sleep,” and reiterated Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s view that “No power can snatch education.”

“Education is the most powerful tool for nation-building,” he added, highlighting the role of civil servants as compassionate and capable leaders dedicated to public welfare.

The Governor urged educational institutions and civil society to collaborate in ensuring that all deserving candidates, irrespective of their background, have access to opportunities in public service.
