Ludhiana :
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh has launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, accusing it of driving the state into financial ruin to serve political interests.
In a strongly worded statement, Chugh alleged that Punjab has effectively become a “shelter-home” for senior AAP leaders like Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia — both of whom are currently out on bail in criminal cases. “They are eating into the state exchequer while the state reels under a financial crisis,” he said.
Chugh criticized the Bhagwant Mann-led state government for asking departments to return unutilized funds to the treasury at a time when the Ludhiana by-election is underway, calling it a clear sign of financial mismanagement.
He further accused the AAP regime of empowering gangsters, land mafias, and liquor cartels under its rule. “The only legacy of AAP in Punjab so far has been the systematic collapse of governance and promotion of criminal elements,” Chugh added.
Chugh described Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as a “puppet” in the hands of Kejriwal, claiming that Punjab’s resources are being diverted to support AAP’s Delhi-based political machinery, rather than serving the people of Punjab.
He urged the voters of Ludhiana to deliver a decisive rejection of AAP in the upcoming by-election, stating, “The state is in search of a new sunrise, and only the people can bring it through the ballot.”
