The National Institute of Ayurveda, Panchkula—operating under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India—has launched a series of awareness activities to mark the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, the initiative aims to promote the message of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles and support environmental well-being.
As part of the celebrations, a “Harit Yoga” program was held on June 9 at the institute’s campus. The event was inaugurated by Shri Kuldeep Bangar, District Information and Public Relations Officer, who served as the chief guest. Emphasizing the link between yoga and environmental sustainability, Shri Bangar planted a tree to symbolically launch the event. Key attendees included Dr. Gaurav Kumar Garg (DMS), Prof. Prahlad Raghu, students, and staff.
The institute is also conducting an Online Yoga Quiz Competition from June 9 to June 14, 2025. Participants can access the quiz through the link https://form-timer.com/start/b6929c77 or via a QR code. The top three scorers will be honored with prizes and certificates on June 21.
Adding to the pre-Yoga Day activities, a Walkathon themed “Yoga for a Healthy Life: Let’s Walk Together” will be held on June 15 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM at Yavanika Park, Sector-5, Panchkula. People of all age groups are encouraged to participate.
The main celebration of International Day of Yoga will take place on June 21, 2025, from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM in front of the Multi-Level Parking area, Sector 5-D, Mansa Devi Complex (MDC), Panchkula. The event will feature a mass yoga session led by trained instructors and attended by thousands, including dignitaries and health enthusiasts.
The institute has urged citizens to take part in these events and embrace yoga as a tool for personal and planetary well-being.
