Morinda :
Former Chief Minister and MP Charanjit Singh Channi embarked on a ceremonial walk from his residence in Morinda to Chamkaur Sahib on Saturday, paying homage to the elder Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. During the journey, Channi expressed deep respect for the sacrifices of the Sahibzadas and the Sikh community.
Commenting on the observance of “Veer Bal Diwas,” Channi criticised the Central Government, stating that decisions related to Sikh matters should involve consultation with Sikh leaders. He also voiced objections to the naming of the day, saying that such decisions cannot be deemed acceptable without the approval of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
The walk reflects Channi’s commitment to honouring Sikh heritage and the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s family, while also highlighting ongoing concerns about government decisions on religious observances.
