Gurshish Singh Shines for Chandigarh at National Shooting Championship

Chandigarh’s young shooter Gurshish Singh has brought pride to the City Beautiful with his stellar performance at the 68th National Shooting Championship (Rifle Events) held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, organized by the National Rifle Association of India.

Gurshish, a Class 9 student at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, scored an impressive 585.9 points in the 50m Rifle Prone – Youth Men ISSF event. The 14-year-old’s remarkable achievement has qualified him in both the Youth Men and Junior Men categories, establishing him as a promising national-level talent.

This milestone opens doors for Gurshish to participate in prestigious international competitions, including the ISSF World Cup and Asian Championships, through trials and selection processes.

His success comes after rigorous training under coach Vikas Prasad and the strong values of discipline, dedication, and perseverance instilled by his parents. Gurshish’s accomplishment has brought pride to his family, school, and Chandigarh’s sporting community, further adding to the city’s rich sporting legacy.
