Mohali :
The Excise Department has launched a special enforcement drive against dhabas and eateries serving liquor illegally to customers in Kharar and Mohali.
During inspections at New Sunny Enclave and along Kharar–Landran Road, Excise Inspector Ashok Kumar and a police team found liquor being openly served at Makhan Fish Corner, a violation of excise regulations. A case was registered against the shopkeeper, evidence was collected, and a strict warning issued.
The drive, directed by Excise Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal and Assistant Commissioner Ashok Chalhotra, aims to ensure compliance with excise laws and maintain law and order. The department has warned that the crackdown will continue in the coming days, creating alertness among those involved in illegal liquor-related activities.
