Jal Arpan Diwas was observed at Chadyala Sooda village in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district on Thursday, with participation from members of the Water Supply and Sanitation Committee, village residents, and officials of the Water Supply Department.
Officials present on the occasion included SDE (Sanitation) Hardeep Singh, BRC Inderjit Singh, and CDS representative Rimpy. Chairman of the Water Supply and Sanitation Committee Balbir Singh, along with panchayat members and a large number of villagers, also attended the event.
During the programme, the village water supply scheme was formally handed over to the Gram Panchayat and the Water Supply and Sanitation Committee. Chairman Balbir Singh assured that the committee would diligently manage and maintain the scheme to ensure the supply of clean and safe drinking water to residents.
Addressing the gathering, SDE Hardeep Singh stated that the Water Supply Department would continue to extend full support to the Gram Panchayat and the committee whenever required.
Villagers were also sensitized about water conservation, proper usage, and the importance of safeguarding water resources to ensure sustainability for the future.
