MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen infrastructure in the Lalru area of the Derabassi constituency, with most development projects completed and several others underway.
Sharing details, Randhawa stated that in Wards 7 and 8 of Lalru, streets, drainage and related works have been completed at costs of ₹24.80 lakh, ₹23.80 lakh and ₹24.50 lakh respectively. The road leading to Attri School in the same wards has been constructed at a cost of ₹23 lakh. Sewerage and drinking water supply work from Street No. 4 to 8 has also been completed at an expenditure of ₹68.81 lakh.
He informed that renovation of the park in Ward No. 7 (₹10 lakh), renovation of Bahawalpuri Bhawan (₹15 lakh), and sewer pipeline installation near Durga Devi Temple (₹24.50 lakh) are currently in progress.
The MLA further said that several new projects will soon be initiated, including construction of streets and drains in Ward No. 7 (₹22 lakh), additional street and drainage works (₹22.30 lakh), a drainage pipeline in Hardware Wali Street (₹24.30 lakh), street improvement works (₹24.90 lakh), street construction in Wards 7 and 8 (₹24 lakh), street construction in Ward No. 4 (₹24.50 lakh), installation of drinking water supply lines in various wards (₹24.20 lakh), sewerage work from New Life Convent School, Lalru to Ward No. 5 (₹10 lakh), and development work at Ward No. 15 Dharamshala, Lehili (₹10 lakh).
Randhawa said instructions have been issued to concerned departments to ensure timely completion of all works. He expressed confidence that the projects will significantly improve basic amenities, transportation and sanitation facilities for residents of the area.
