Chandigarh :
The The Himalayan Foundation Chandigarh, the youth wing under its mentor The Himalayan Club Trust, successfully organised its flagship event KIDO Season 16, celebrating sportsmanship, creativity, and youthful enthusiasm at Tau Devi Lal Stadium.
The day-long event commenced at 9:00 AM with a nutritious breakfast for participants, setting the tone for an energetic and well-coordinated programme. Children from across the Tricity participated in a series of sports and creative competitions designed to promote physical fitness, confidence, and self-expression.
The event was graced by distinguished guests including Mr. Ramesh Goyal (MD, KBD Groups, Mohali), Mr. Hitesh Goyal (KBD Group, Mohali), Mr. Anil Kumar Singhal (CEO, KBD Groups), and Sandeep Singh, Founder and Settlor of The Himalayan Foundation Chandigarh. Their presence and motivational words inspired the young participants to perform with enthusiasm and determination.
KIDO 16 featured a range of athletic competitions such as 100m and 200m races, shuttle race, long jump, and the popular sac race. Participants competed in three age categories — Under 10, Under 14, and Under 17. Alongside sports, non-sporting activities including art, dance, and singing competitions provided children an opportunity to showcase their creative talents.
Lunch was served at 2:00 PM, followed by the much-anticipated Prize Distribution Ceremony at around 4:00 PM, where winners were honoured for their outstanding performances.
A key highlight of the event was the announcement of a new athletic development initiative. Under this programme, three children from each age category will receive a fully sponsored six-month Athletic Sports Scholarship, aimed at providing structured training and professional guidance to nurture young sporting talent.
Organisers credited the smooth execution of the event to a dedicated team of volunteers whose efforts ensured a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees.
KIDO Season 16 concluded on a high note, leaving participants and organisers with cherished memories and renewed inspiration for future initiatives.
