

Mohali : The 9th bus under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage Bus Yatra was flagged off from Mohali today by Kulwant Singh, MLA of Mohali constituency, marking another successful journey for devotees. The bus, carrying pilgrims from Sector-68 and Kumbra, departed after MLA Singh waved the green flag. Speaking to reporters, Kulwant Singh highlighted the initiative launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, saying it has been largely successful in promoting religious tourism and fostering enthusiasm among devotees.
He explained that each booth in the constituency sends one bus on the pilgrimage, with more buses planned in the future.Singh said the program not only allows devotees to visit religious sites but also includes educational visits to Jallianwala Bagh, paying tribute to freedom fighters, and understanding the sacrifices made at the nation’s borders. He added that opposition parties now have little ground to criticize the Aam Aadmi Party government, as promises made by AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann have been fulfilled. Singh cited initiatives such as the Rs 1,000 monthly guarantee for women announced during the budget session and the reduction of electricity rates to Rs 1.5 per unit for the public.
The event saw the presence of local leaders, including Jasveer Kaur Atli, Phoolraj Singh (constituency coordinator), Ramanpreet Kaur (Women Wing coordinator), Harmesh Singh (Block President), R.P. Sharma, Charanjit Kaur, Colonel Singh (Gurdwara Management Committee), Chanchal Singla, Surinder Singh, Jarnail Singh, Davinder Mohan Singh, and H.S. Walia. The MLA said the pilgrimage bus initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to combine religious, cultural, and educational experiences, ensuring public engagement while fostering awareness of India’s heritage and history.
He urged citizens to take full advantage of the service and expressed confidence that the program would continue to strengthen the connection between people, faith, and national pride.
