
New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on today held a telephonic conversation with Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, discussing the escalating situation in West Asia and strongly condemning attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure.
During the call, PM Modi conveyed Eid greetings to the King and thanked him for his continued support towards the Indian community in Bahrain. Both leaders expressed concern over the ongoing conflict and its wider impact on global stability.
In a statement, Modi said the attacks on critical infrastructure are unacceptable and warned that they could adversely affect global food, fuel and fertiliser security. He also stressed the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and maintaining secure shipping routes in the region.
The conversation comes amid heightened tensions in West Asia following recent military escalations, which have raised global concerns. India has been actively engaging with key international leaders to push for de-escalation and peaceful resolution.
In recent days, PM Modi has also spoken with leaders of several countries, including Jordan, France, Oman, and others, emphasising dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward. India has reiterated its stance on maintaining peace, stability, and the uninterrupted movement of goods and energy supplies.
The outreach highlights India’s proactive diplomatic efforts to address the crisis and safeguard its strategic and economic interests in the region.
