
Mohali : In a heartening display of faith and community spirit, the 15th bus carrying devotees under the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme was flagged off from Kakrali village in Dera Bassi. The initiative continues to bring joy to elderly citizens, many of whom are fulfilling their long-cherished dream of visiting religious places.
The bus was flagged off by Kuljit Singh Randhawa, who highlighted the significance of the scheme launched by the Punjab government. He described it as a historic and welfare-oriented initiative aimed especially at senior citizens who were unable to undertake pilgrimages earlier due to financial or personal constraints.
Addressing the gathering, Randhawa emphasized that the scheme is not just about travel but about providing spiritual peace, satisfaction, and renewed hope to the elderly. He noted that seeing happiness and devotion on the faces of senior citizens as they embark on such journeys is deeply fulfilling for everyone involved.
The MLA further stated that continuous efforts are being made to ensure that more and more residents of the Dera Bassi constituency benefit from the scheme.
He assured that no willing individual would be left out and that the outreach would be expanded in the coming months. Devotees expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Punjab government and the local leadership for providing them with this opportunity. Many described the scheme as a priceless gift, allowing them to visit sacred places and experience spiritual fulfillment.
The send-off ceremony witnessed a large gathering of local residents, leaders, and party workers, who bid farewell to the pilgrims with (garlands) and warm wishes. The atmosphere was filled with joy, devotion, and enthusiasm.
