Mohali: The street vendors continue to hamper the pedestrian and vehicular movement on Airport Road towards Kharar from Mohali area with the concerned authorities doing little enough to free the roads from their occupation.
Commuters travelling towards the Kharar via Airport Road have to face frequent traffic jams due to the choking of roadside and pavement space by fruit vendors. They can be seen sprawling their carts across the vital stretch which often results in traffic jams.
Commuter added, the street vendors can be seen occupying the main road, the pavement and roadside of the busy junction which often leads to accidents.
“Traffic jams on this stretch have become a norm and I am used to it, as a motorist I find it hard to go through the way and for cars it becomes a long journey during office hours shared a commuter and added that the highway and sidewalks are still peppered with fruit, food and vegetable stalls. Who Cares???
