Amritsar (Punjab), November 8, 2024: Two people were arrested and four firearms were seized as the Punjab Police successfully disrupted a significant smuggling operation in Amritsar, according to a statement released on Friday.
The suspects have been named as Aditya Kapoor, also known as Makhan, and Ravinder Singh. Authorities recovered four weapons from their possession, which included a Glock pistol, five magazines, and 14 rounds of ammunition.
Preliminary investigations reveal that Aditya Kapoor has been implicated in 12 prior criminal cases and was allegedly acting under the instructions of criminals based in the United States, identified as Balwinder S and Prabhdeep S, as well as a criminal based in Portugal, named Manpreet.
The investigation reveals that these crime syndicates are rivals of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria crime syndicate.
An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway in the case, the police.
