Gopashtami Celebrated with Devotion at Shri Gopal Mata Ambika Devi Gaushala

THE AMAN SANDESHH TIMES

Kharar: Shri Gopal Mata Ambika Devi Gaushala Seva Samiti, Kharar, celebrated the auspicious occasion of Gopashtami with great enthusiasm on the eighth day of the Shukla Paksha in Kartik month.

The festival holds immense significance in Sanatan Dharma, as it is believed that 33 crore deities reside within the sacred form of Gau Mata.

The day began with a special ceremony where the Gaushala’s cows were bathed and adorned in white clothes.

The cows were then worshipped with Vedic chants, and offerings of akshat (unbroken rice), sandalwood, roli, ghee, honey, milk, sweets, and fruits were made. The worshippers, recognizing the divine presence of the 33 crore deities in Gau Mata, also performed prayers and rituals to honor these deities.

According to the legend, on this day Lord Krishna, as a young boy, took his friends to the forest to graze the cows, and from that moment, he became known as “Gopal” (protector of cows). Since then, Gopashtami has been celebrated in honor of this event.

On this occasion, the Gaushala Seva Samiti invited devotees from every village to contribute by taking responsibility for the maintenance of their respective cows for at least a year and also encouraged participants to name the cows they are caring for. Devotees from Kharar and nearby areas enthusiastically participated in this initiative, showing their deep devotion to Gau Mata.

The celebrations continued throughout the day, starting at 6:00 AM and lasting until the evening. During this time, villagers engaged in worship and prayer. In the evening, a special Bhajan Sandhya (devotional singing) was organized, followed by a community langar (free meal) for all the devotees.

The event saw active participation from the members of the Gaushala Seva Samiti, who took on various responsibilities to ensure the success of the event.

The ongoing construction work at the Gaushala was also a key focus, and attendees were encouraged to contribute to this effort. The event received positive responses from the local community, with many expressing their desire to help with the development work at the Gaushala.

The program was organized in collaboration with the Radha Kripa Club and the National Gau Seva Gaushala Sangh, alongside Shri Gopal Mata Ambika Devi Gaushala Seva Samiti. Prominent attendees included Bhupinder Sharma (President of National Gau Seva Gaushala Sangh), Amit Sethi, Pandit Chandan Mishra, Mohit Mittal, Pratham Sood, Gaurav Sharma, Rohit Jain, Manish Jain, Mahindra Bajaj, Arun Uppal, Ranjit Kumar Singh, and Ajay Kumar.

Bhupinder Kumar Sharma, President of the Gaushala Seva Samiti, expressed his gratitude to all the devotees for their participation and support and called upon them to continue contributing to the ongoing construction and development work at the Gaushala.
