Mohali:
Mohali Municipal Corporation Mayor Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu inaugurated the redevelopment of the old chowk in Mataur village on Friday. The project, costing around ₹3.25 lakh, aims to enhance the chowk’s appearance and improve traffic flow.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Sidhu praised Teji, President of Shaheed Kartar Singh Club, along with Ravi Arora and other office bearers, for their organized efforts toward village welfare. He emphasized that the corporation prioritizes maximum development for residents and is committed to strengthening infrastructure in Mataur and surrounding areas.
Addressing political concerns, Mayor Sidhu raised the issue of ward delimitation ahead of municipal elections, alleging attempts by the current government to manipulate boundaries. He asserted that, despite any delimitation, the Congress Party is poised to win more seats and retain control of the corporation, highlighting ongoing development works as proof of the party’s grassroots engagement.
