Ahead of the Panchayat Samiti Elections–2025, the randomisation of counting teams and their allocation to constituencies in Kharar, Majri and Derabassi blocks was conducted on Monday to ensure a free, fair and transparent counting process. The exercise was held in the presence of Election Observer Ms. Amrit Singh.
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal said that 14 counting tables have been arranged for each constituency, with four-member teams at every table and five reserve teams deployed to meet any exigency. Counting for Kharar and Majri Panchayat Samitis will take place at Government Polytechnic College, Khoonimajra (Kharar), while counting for Derabassi Panchayat Samiti will be held at Government College, Derabassi.
She added that all counting personnel have been duly trained and directed to report at their respective centres by 6:00 am. The counting of votes will begin at 8:00 am on December 17.
Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary was also present during the randomisation process.
