Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha Convention January 15 Protest Announced

Chandigarh :

The Sanyukt Karamchari Morcha today organised a massive convention at Bhakna Bhawan in Chandigarh to press for long-pending demands of UT and Municipal Corporation employees, with participation from major employee organisations and federations.
Employee leaders criticised the Chandigarh Administration and MC for their alleged apathy towards unresolved issues, demanding regularisation of daily wage, contract and outsourced staff, permanent jobs for temporary employees after ten years of service, equal pay for equal work, repeal of new labour laws, and an end to retrenchment under rationalisation.
Additional demands included withdrawal of ESMA in CTU and the Power Department, revocation of punitive orders against crèche employees, cancellation of FIRs against CTU union leaders, full implementation of Central rules and the 7th Pay Commission with arrears, enhanced ESI and bonus limits, CGHS medical facilities, and jobs for dependents of deceased employees.
Conveners Gopal Dutt Joshi and Sukhbir Singh, along with other leaders, called for job security and immediate redressal of employees’ grievances. The convention concluded with the announcement of a massive protest rally and agitation at Masjid Ground on January 15, warning of intensified action if demands are not met.
