Construction Debris on Franco–Diplast Road Poses Pedestrian Hazards

Mohali :

Residents of Phase 2, SAS Nagar, have raised safety concerns over leftover construction material scattered along the main road stretch from Franco to Diplast. Loose debris on the road and adjoining footpaths is reportedly creating slipping hazards, posing risks to pedestrians, especially senior citizens, children, and women.
Atul Sharma, a local resident, has sent a formal request to the Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner, Mohali, urging immediate action to clear the construction debris. He highlighted that the unsafe condition of footpaths makes walking difficult and dangerous, particularly during peak hours when pedestrian traffic is high.
Other residents have echoed Sharma’s concerns and appealed to the Municipal Corporation to ensure prompt clearance of the leftover materials to restore safe movement on the road and footpaths.
Sharma’s letter requests that the MC Commissioner direct the concerned department to address the issue at the earliest, emphasizing the importance of public safety and the prevention of potential accidents.
