Around 400 students of Government Senior Secondary School, Gobindgarh, Mohali, received sweaters and boots from the Lions Club Panchkula Premier today as part of a social welfare initiative.
MLA Kulwant Singh, present at the event, lauded the Lions Club for actively participating in social service activities and said such initiatives set an example for other community organizations. “The government alone cannot achieve everything. When citizens, social organizations, and authorities come together, no effort remains incomplete. I appeal to everyone to unite in supporting the needy and enhancing social welfare,” Singh said.
He added that similar efforts would continue in other schools in the coming days to provide relief to students during the winter season. The MLA also appreciated the role of school authorities and highlighted the state government’s focus on improving educational infrastructure under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership.
Singh expressed gratitude to the Lions Club team members for distributing the warm clothes and acknowledged the support of community leaders and local representatives present at the event, including Dr. Satinder Singh Bhanwara, Kuldeep Singh Samana, Jaspal Singh Matour, Rajinder Prasad Sharma (former councillor), Jagjit Singh Gobindgarh, Gurpreet Singh Balyali, Akwinder Singh Gosal, Karmapuri Sarpanch, Harpal Singh Brar, Gurpreet Singh Kurra, Gurpal Singh Garewal, Ravi Mehra, Ashish Agarwal, Manjeet Kaur, Nisha Sachdeva, Ekshpal Singh, Parvinder Singh, Dinesh Sachdeva, and Gaurav Khanna.
The initiative was aimed at helping students stay warm during winter and promoting community participation in social welfare activities.
