The Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Mohali, marked International Labour Day with a spirit of appreciation, inclusivity, and celebration, recognizing the essential role of its support staff in the institution’s daily functioning.
The event commenced with an interactive session led by Director Principal Dr. Bhavneet Bharti, alongside Dr. Anuradha and Hostel Warden Ms. Rekha, who engaged directly with the staff. The open dialogue provided a platform for the support staff to share their experiences and challenges, highlighting the institute’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of dignity of labour and mutual respect.
A lively cultural program, organized and performed by the support staff, featured songs and devotional bhajans, celebrating the resilience, dedication, and hard work of those who form the backbone of the institute.
In her address, Dr. Bharti acknowledged the unwavering contributions of the workers, stating, “You are the backbone of our institution. Today is a reminder that every role—whether visible or behind the scenes—is vital to the success and growth of AIMS Mohali.”
The celebration concluded with a community lunch, where faculty, students, and staff dined together, symbolizing unity and shared respect across all levels of the institution.
