57 Crore Water Pipeline Project Launched BY Kulwant Singh

Mohali : MLA Kulwant Singh today announced a major ₹57 crore project to replace old drinking water pipelines in Phase-10, aiming to improve water quality and public health in the area.
Speaking to the media during the launch of the project, Singh said that outdated and damaged pipelines had been causing contamination in the water supply, raising concerns about the spread of diseases among residents. To address this issue, the existing pipelines will be replaced with new four-inch DI (ductile iron) pipes to ensure clean and safe drinking water.
He stated that the project will be completed within approximately two and a half months, adding that the initiative reflects the Punjab Government’s commitment, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to resolving long-pending civic issues.
The MLA highlighted that Phase-10 already receives canal-based water supply, which is relatively cleaner, but pipeline issues had been affecting the overall quality.
With the installation of new pipelines, residents are expected to get consistent and contamination-free water, reducing health risks. Recalling his long association with the area, Kulwant Singh said Phase-10 holds a special place for him as he began his political journey here in 1995 as a councillor and later served in various leadership roles. On the issue of Mohali Municipal Corporation elections, Singh said that all stakeholders were awaiting the court’s decision, and now the routine process for conducting elections has begun.
Senior officials, including Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Singh and Chief Engineer Naresh Kumar Batta, along with local leaders and residents, were present at the event.
