Pb Administration Reviews IPL Match Preparations at Mullanpur Stadium

Mohali : The district administration today held a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur (New Chandigarh).The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Geetika Singh at the District Administrative Complex.
She informed that IPL matches are scheduled to be held on March 31 and April 11, 2026, and emphasized the need for comprehensive arrangements in view of the expected large turnout of spectators.Directing all concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination, the ADC stressed the importance of proper parking management, public facilities, and strict adherence to safety norms both inside and outside the stadium premises. Organisers were instructed to earmark adequate parking spaces to facilitate smooth vehicle management by the district police. To enhance public convenience, directions were issued to install mobile toilets and urinals near parking areas. Reviewing safety arrangements, the Fire Officer was asked to conduct a thorough inspection of firefighting systems and ensure their proper functioning.
Officials from GMADA and other departments were directed to repair and maintain roads leading to the stadium and verify the structural safety of the venue, including seating arrangements. The ADC further instructed that all inspections and mandatory compliance measures be completed well in advance and that necessary safety and fitness certificates be submitted on time.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including GMADA representative Amarinder Singh Malhi, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Ankita Kansal, SDM Kharar Gurmeet Singh, SP Ramandeep Singh, and health officials. Representatives of the Punjab Kings franchise and stadium authorities were also present.
