Anti-Drug Awareness Poster Competition Held at GGSCW

Mohali : The VADA Club of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women (GGSCW), Sector-26, Chandigarh, organised a poster-making competition on the theme “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The initiative aimed to educate students about the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction while encouraging a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among youth.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 35 students representing various academic streams, who created impactful and creative posters conveying strong anti-drug messages.
Among the winners, Tanisha Sethi (BA III) secured the first position, followed by Kiran Negi (BCA III) in second place, while Ritika Sabharwal (BCom II) bagged the third position.
The winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹2000, ₹1500, and ₹1000 respectively.
Organisers stated that the competition served as an effective platform for students to express their thoughts and creativity while addressing a critical social issue. The posters highlighted the dangers of drug abuse and promoted awareness through powerful visual messaging. The event also played a significant role in encouraging students to take responsibility as active contributors to society.
Participants were motivated to become ambassadors of a drug-free environment and spread awareness within their communities. The VADA Club emphasised that such initiatives are essential in building a strong, informed, and responsible youth population committed to eradicating drug abuse from society.
