Phase-6 Residents Protest Over Drugs, Thefts and Civic Issues

Mohali :

Residents of Phase-6 in Mohali staged a protest march raising concerns over growing drug activity, thefts, illegal auto operations, and poor civic maintenance in the area.
Members of the Residents Welfare Association said repeated complaints to authorities had failed to resolve the issues, creating fear and inconvenience among locals.
Residents alleged that overgrown bushes had become hideouts for anti-social elements, while incidents of theft had increased security concerns.
AAP leader R.P. Sharma joined the protest and assured residents that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
Wing Commander M.S. Mander (Retd) said Phase-6 is a gateway to Punjab from Chandigarh and should reflect the state’s image, but instead appears neglected.
Other residents who addressed the gathering included Dharam S. Saini, Renu Sharma, Capt. S.P. Singh, Advocate Lally, and Kansal, Chief Engineer, GMADA.
The protesters demanded regular police patrolling, clearing of overgrown vegetation, and strict action against illegal and anti-social activities.
